Imported broiler starter formulas often underperform here. Our nutrition team explains what we change for sub-tropical conditions.
Off-the-shelf European starter recipes assume 18–22°C ambient. In Faisalabad in May, your house is at 35°C — the bird's voluntary intake drops, and the formula starts under-delivering on metabolizable energy.
Our adjustments: bump fat from 4% to 6% (energy-dense, low thermic effect), tighten amino acid ratios to keep protein-to-energy honest, and add a heat-stable phytase to recover phosphorus.
On the micronutrient side, vitamin C and electrolyte premix get a clear lift through summer. We've also seen consistent wins from a slightly higher sodium level — 0.20% vs 0.18%.
None of this is exotic. It's standard nutrition science applied to Pakistani reality. If your conversion is slipping in summer, audit your starter first.
